June 12, 2011: Our Spirit Is At Rest

After six years of extraordinary research on Mars and a year of trying to re-establish contact, NASA has ended efforts to awaken the rover Spirit. We congratulate everyone involved in Spirit's success. (Spirit's twin, Opportunity, continues its mission, seven years into its 90-day mission profile.)
