July 2, 2011: Proof Of Conan! No, not historical evidence of the existence of the Hyborian Age -- we all know that's been suppressed by the reptoids -- but printer proofs of Munchkin Conan the Barbarian (which may eventually become suppressed by reptoids . . . you never know what those scaly creeps will take offense to). As you may recall, printer proofs are what we get to make sure all the fronts are oriented properly with the backs, all the correct fronts and backs are matched, and the colors are what we expected. Once the checks are complete, the next step involves big machines throwing a bunch of ink at cards . . . which are then cut, sorted, packaged, and shipped to us. In short, as long as the proof looks good, the game is officially "on schedule." And Munchkin Conan the Barbarian looks very good . . . and so we'll have them in time for GenCon! -- Paul Chapman How Was Howard Days?Back on June 8 I mentioned that I was going to attend Howard Days, the Robert E. Howard celebration that's held each summer in Cross Plains, TX. I had a lot of fun, and, as promised, I posted a writeup of my trip at my toy and art site, battlegrip.com. The summary (for those who don't like to read) comes down to: Great time. I'll be going back next year. After the show, I made arrangements for a few of the GURPS Conan books to journey from our archives to the Cross Plains library for their Howard collection. I wish we had a complete set to share with them, but that's just not meant to be. We will, though, make sure that copies of the upcoming Munchkin Conan the Barbarian supplement find their way to Cross Plains as soon as the booster pack is released. People in the future can look in wonder at the booster and giggle. Maybe we should even ship them our Munchkin Conan the Barbarian banner once we no longer need it for shows . . . -- Phil Reed Share this post! |
