August 25, 2011: Gaming At PAX PrimePAX Prime is big. Really big. You just won't believe how mind-bogglingly packed one area can become. I mean, you thought there were a lot of gamers when you had a dozen people playing Cthulhu Dice in your kitchen last week, but that was just peanuts to PAX Prime. (With vast apologies to Douglas Adams.) Selling Warehouse 23 exclusives, games that were air-freighted from our printer, and the newest releases from Fireside Games and Green Ronin? Check! Signings by Steve Jackson and Andrew Hackard? Check! Munchkin Zombies, Cthulhu Dice, Zombie Dice, and Revolution! demos until we fall over? Check! The world's first Munchkin Axe Cop tournament? Check! All that up there? That's just what we're up to . . . there are dozens of other game publishers -- both digital and tabletop -- showing off their shiniest offerings, two concerts worth of nerd music, and more open gaming space than you could fit into a moving truck. Really, the amount of gaming is mind-boggling. Mirror, MirrorIt's a classic: take the hero and twist his reflection to create his greatest enemy. With Axe Cop, the result was Chainsaw Cop . . . which I'm not sure qualifies as "his greatest enemy," but the effort is there. In Munchkin Axe Cop, Chainsaw Cop is no pushover. Since he's Level 18 versus Cops, you'll earn all four of those treasures. If you don't defeat him, losing an Ally is bad . . . but giving the Ally to an opponent is worse. Chainsaw Cop is a monster in Munchkin Axe Cop, available this fall in game stores everywhere. (And if you're attending PAX Prime . . . run over to Room 201. We may have some copies left!)
