July 19, 2005: Google Maps

As we hunt for a new office, I'm finding out how useful, as well as fun, this feature can be. Week before last we visited several sites. I didn't really know where they were; I wasn't behind the wheel. But I wanted to revisit one of them, and I knew roughly where it was. So I got the street map, went back and forth between that and the satellite map, worked my way down the highway, started recognizing landmarks . . . and found it.

And then, by studying the satellite and road maps in alternation, I learned the path well enough that I was just able to drive there.

Woot.
